 Cities Skylines After Dark Essential Mods Pack V3

PostSubject: Cities Skylines After Dark Essential Mods Pack V3   Tue Oct 27, 2015 11:29 am



V3 changes :

•Not compatible with V2 Save-games i recommend a fresh install.

-Alternative to fresh install :

*Delete the files in your mods folders and replace with the new ones
*Delete the files in your assets folders and replace with the new ones
*Delete the .xml and .dds files from game parent folder and replace with the new ones

•Removed some older mods and replaced them with updated versions or other better mods.
•Removed assets that were heavy on the GPU or un-optimized with the help of the mesh tool
•Added more optimized assets
•Added more mods
•Added more maps

Shortcut keys for the new mods :
-TAB
-CTR+R
-CTR+G
-CTR+M
-CTR+SHIFT+ALT+M
-CTR+F8
-CTR+F9
-CTR+F10

Features and summary
•400 new assets
•40 mods
•70 maps








Instructions :
•Install Cities Skilines - After Dark and start it once
•Place the contents of "Place in Documents folder" in X:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines
•Place the contents of "Place in game folder" in X:\Cities Skylines After Dark
Tested with game version : 5.1.3.12500144

Known bugs :
•If you save and load the game fps go down to 10-15 for some reason to avoid save,quit and load.
•Some maps have blue textures or roads disappear when zooming out this is probably because they are made pre after dark,it's only a small number of maps

As it contains lots of new assets load time will be longer.
Average loading time on a SSD is 1 minute.
•Remember that this is a very CPU/GPU/HDD/RAM intesive application
-Application can and will use more that 8GB RAM
-Application can and will use more than 3GB GDDR (VRAM)
-Application can and will bottleneck you CPU
•With an 5 years old i5,8GB DDR3,GTX 780 game will go to 30 FPS or so when you get past 40k population,and even lower if you zoom in enough.

•Remember to configure your mods to your liking and don't forget to activate them from content manager >>> mods

Will this work with 1.3.2 and the new DLC??

I loved using your mod pack with 1.2.2 but I kept having a bug where fire stations didn't respond to any fires (even if it was the firehouse xD ).

Btw if anyone is interested I found a really handy post on Steam for figuring out what works with Snowfall. Just google "mod compatibility guide for snowfall"

Hello Sir,

I have a freshly installed Deluxe Edition of the Game with version 1.4.0-F3 

Will most of the 400 assets work on the game? as for the mods i will test it myself which one works...

Hello and welcome to the forums!Most of them will work (99%) with the exceptions of a few that require networks extensions project,and i don't think it's compatible with the latest version of the game.

My focus on the next pack will be on the Skyrim pack.
Also i recently bough a powerful CPU (6700k) but didn't have enough money to buy a good cooling solution for it since i kept some parts of the OLD PC,Cities is the only game that pushes the CPU to 75-80C and i don't like to push the new CPU to those temps.

I will probably make another pack for Cities also,but i really can't tell you when.

Ow if thats the case then ill just to wait then...

But could i make i request... instead of putting them all in a single folder could you just categorize it... i.e. all vehicles assets in one same folder not with other assets..

what version of the game u playing?

Yikes. What thermal compound are you using? Aftermarket thermal compound brought my CPU temperatures down 10 degrees Celcius

Ah, k. I use Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut, at best it would probably only bring your temps down 3-5 Celsius anyway.
