PostSubject: Thank you very much for sharing the pack!!! (+ some bug notes)   Sat Dec 03, 2016 1:54 am

Hey RottenDub thanks for sharing this pack can't even imagine how much time it would've taken me to install all of that by myself. Playing Skyrim for the first time and really enjoying modded version, however i wanted to share a couple of bugs I noticed. I know you currently working on 5.0 and probably knew about those bugs for a while now (probably even fixed them already) but just in case it slipped through somehow might be helpful...

First of all the caravan mode
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26207/?
conflicts with TRUE CITY - The Great Expansion of Solitude
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60430/?
(when you travel there the caravan gets stuck in the expanded area building you can exit it but entering back seems not possible)

might also have some conflicts with other cities

Second I have no idea how to complete brawl quests because it seems bugged (NPC's start combat after a couple punches), tried forcing brawl mod in SPERG, didn't seem to help, please let me know if there's a solution to that other than
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77465/?

Also I noticed some minor texture bugs probably connected to female body retextures (the bar wenches boobs are visible through the dress kinda funny but little disturbing :-) also when depict enemy's head sometimes their body models become naked at the same moment, some other small things like some objects levitating slightly above ground and such (all of those are not relevant to gameplay I'm mentioning it just in case)

P.S. Thanks for the pack once again, please let me know if you need some screenshots proof of those bugs, and if it's ok for me to post some more bugs I might find... Also sorry if some of those were brought up before I've glanced through forum threads but didn't notice anything similar.

Thanks for the reports.

1.Caravan mod was removed for 5.0 already
2.Expansion mod for solitude was also removed for 5.0
3.Modern Brawl fix will be included in 5.0 and hopefully brawls will be fixed.

Thanks for the other reports i'll look into them.
Glad you like the pack!

Cheers!

Hey Rotten thanks for a quick reply/
I had some problems during first quest from winterhold college of mages, it seems that welcoming quest results in CTD or some Error crash, can you please confirm if it's a general problem or just for me ( other quests seem to work fine, and i didn't delete, change or add any mods)

P.S. Related to last topic is there a reason you deleting solitude expansion, seemed like an ok mod to me (just curious)
Also here's the mode you might like for your new pack (though you probably know it already)

Update: I remembered a couple of other bugs I forgot to mention in first topic:
1) Phenderix Ambassador (from magic evolved) dialogue replies seem to be broken
2) There is some kind of texture bug related to the dress of Riften's jarl
Also not sure if its a bug but the alchemy table is outside the alchemy shack near the road (seems like a bug)

By the way wanted to ask if you can post a link to the info about the use of directx 11 video memory size test for 3gb card owners,
because all other resources say that it has nothing to do with skyrim so i m not sure which value is better to use (the truth is I've tried both and didn't see much difference in performance improvement)

Sorry to bother you so much with questions, but I am really enjoing the pack and want to figure out all technical issues to improve my playthrough (also really looking forward for your next pack version)

It's true that Skyrim has nothing to do with DX11 however through ENB it can use a part of your RAM (not VRAM) to help people with less GPU power even if it's slower.

ENBhost.exe runs and consumes resources separately from the Skyrim app.

Windows 10 can't use more than 4GB of VRAM when it comes to Skyrim or DX9 apps.

I recently found out that capping FPS with RivaTunerStatisticServer can lead to silky smooth movement in-game.

Thank you for the answer, I do in fact use windows 10 and I am aware of the idiotical limitation those microsoft geniuses introduced "by accident". However I still dont understand the number I get from directx11 vram test (I have 3gb 1060 and 8 gb RAM, but the number it shows is somewhere between 23000 and 24000 Mb) and why it is ok to use that number in the ENB (as instructed in your performance guide) considering the game runs on directx9. From what you wrote I can only imagine than ENB host is able to autodetect and use directx11 features when running with dx9 games but then why is it only useful for people with exactly 3 GB VRAM and not above (windows 10 limitation aside).

Anyway as I understood there is no point in setting VideoMemorySizeMb more than 4064 when using Windows 10.
Regardless thanks for the FPS limit tip, though it would be nice if there was a way to limit fps in skyrim config files without running additional software (i know that you can limit fps in enb config but i think this feature doesnt work correctly). Is it possible to use antiflag.cfg fps limit (without the clamp part) for that purpose?

Found this explanation about directx11 test, but still not sure if it's values can be used with skyrim enb (this is from Fallout 4 topic):

VRamSizeTest DX11 tool reports maximal available video memory for the game, that huge
value really works because of video driver tricks, but at cost of performance because certain
amount of system memory (ram) is added to video memory (vram) and some page file
memory (swap file). For example if you have 1 Gb VRAM, 8 Gb RAM and VRamSizeTest tells
that you have 20000 Mb of video memory, this means 11 Gb (20-1-8) can be allocated on
the disk as swap file. Of course performance of disk i/o is very low and bad for SSD health,
so do not use any value above VRAM+RAM for VideoMemorySizeMb. Only if you want so much
to see the game at full quality and can't buy more RAM, that able to suffer from lags at some
heavy areas - set bigger values (but please do not use swap file on ssd disk, use hdd instead).

Set the number of ram that you GPU has ENB host.exe might make use of it.

ENB can't run directX11 features of a DX9 game.

I recommend the method above because it produces very fluid frames VS any kind of other FPS limiter because it also smooths frame-timing.

I consider anti-lag dll and .cfg useless now because RTSS does it way better.

Thanks for the info. Is it better to disable v-sync completely using this method or use both?

If you have G-sync monitor it's fine without if not use it however you want.

V-sync off can squeeze out better FPS but will probably introduce screen tearing so it's up to you.

Short answer yes you can use both.
