PostSubject: Guide to 1440p and beyond resolutions for Skyrim   Mon Jan 11, 2016 10:29 pm

Some of us(not me) have beast PC and want to kick things up a notch.
While most of us will stay at 1080p some want to push it further so I've made a little guide to help you guys out.
In the future I'll post the files here for easy access/replacement but for now manual is the way to config it.
It should take 5 minutes to make all these changes and play.

Well first of all get the test files from the ini download center thread.
They include a frame limiter.

•Set the FPS limit to 60. (in antilag.cfg)
•Get any ini you want from the download center after and place in profile
•Make sure to set V-sync on TESV.exe from NVIDIA CP.

*HDT systems and Skyrim in general is designed to run at 60 FPS.

•Change to desired resolution (in skyrim prefs)
Quote :

iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920

•Open effect.txt find and change these lines to desired resolutions :

Quote :
// Set your resolution here
float XCoord <
string UIName="Horizontal Pixel Resolution";
string UIWidget="Spinner";
float UIMin=0.0;
float UIMax=7680.0;
> = {1920};

float YCoord <
string UIName="Vertical Pixel Resolution";
string UIWidget="Spinner";
float UIMin=0.0;
float UIMax=4320.0;
> = {1080};
•Open effect.txt.ini and find and change these lines to desired resolutions :
Quote :

Horizontal Pixel Resolution=1920.0
Vertical Pixel Resolution=1080.0

*Optional set 16 AF for TESV.exe in NVIDIA CP it's better sometimes then ENB.

Don't forget to post some SS or make them available for download if you have a beast of a PC.

*Tips for screenshots :
Press Right-SHIFT to enable free camera and hide menus.
Press Right-CTRL to enable free camera, hide menus and freeze time.

PostSubject: Refresh rate for monitors   Wed Jan 13, 2016 10:34 pm

Also, I noticed an increase in stability from a graphical stand point when I changed my monitor's refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz and set the limiter to 60FPS.  The water tends to flicker and I get CTD's anytime I fast travel to an area with a lot of water around it.
Once I switched this was fixed!

This is because my native resolution is at 1440p, meaning I have a 1440p monitor and I'm using 2 980 Ti's to run it!

If you don't have an 1440p monitor you have to use Nvidia DSR

Prefs.ini are in X:\Skyrim\profiles\RottenDub\skyrimprefs
Effect.txt X:\Skyrim\enbseries\
