PostSubject: Has anyone tried any fast travel alternatives such as carriage mods?   Mon Sep 25, 2017 10:50 am

Hi! My game is running stable and I'm excited to try a no fast travel playthrough with a paper map and no player marker. I've disabled fast travel via Frostfall and have replaced the map with a paper one, which I don't really reccomend this as it doesn't look the best with ENB, but it works well enough for me.

I've found a couple carriage mods https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38529/? and https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68221/? as well as a wayshrine mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64201

Before I try these out, I just thought I'd ask here if anyone has tried these to see if they have any problems with the modpack. I'm concerned that some areas such as where the carriage is parked, and its path, could be blocked by something added with other mods. In the case of the road being blocked choosing to "sleep" and not watch the ride could workaround that issue..

I plan on trying them out and testing as I go, but I'd love to hear if anyone has tried anything like this with the modpack!

What was the result? I'm interested in using both those mods.

as a mage the psyjic teleport skilld mod is cool, but it somehow breaks immersion with frostfall, becouse the teleport map its a free shelter...

I found a mod that removes the player location from the map and combined with disabled fast travel and a paper map it forces me to get really lost and actually explore Skyrim which is incredible. Now it feels way more like a survival game than a fast travel simulator with campfires. I'm about to try out SWIFT.

@RottenDub are you still adding mods to SPM5? I got a few small, very immersive ones but I don't want to pollute the forum with a ton of threads.

Real Shelter goes great with Frostfall and Vivid Weathers since you can take cover outside under the roof of a blacksmith or any other overhead. Honed Metal lets you pay blacksmiths to enchant and temper your weapons which makes them actually useful if you don't want to invest in smithing right away. Diverse Skyrim adds more NPC variety to levelled lists so you don't encounter look alikes. Signs of Skyrim gives each inn and shop their own unique signs. Animated clutter gives animations for things like looting a barrel. Skyrim Underground is an incredibly massive dungeon that connects all the capitals and more together.

Good luck ever finishing SPM5 lol... I can't wait! Is there any chance it will be ready for Christmas? Or is your PC still messed up?
